In 2005, the company developed and introduced the patented Optilock technology which locks the interpupillary distance and convergence of the loupes. With PeriOptix Optilock™ technology your loupes don't move out of alignment like other brands. Once you set your interpupillary setting (distance between your pupils) your optics are automatically locked in place. And, they will remain in the same place regardless of how many times you flip them up and down. Your preset convergence angle ("toe in" of optics barrels which is set to your working distance) are locked in place at two pivot points each—another patented feature. Other loupes use only a single tightening screw which frequently loosens causing misalignment and eyestrain.
