How do I measure my working distance?
Sit in your chair in your normal working position. With a tape measure, measure the distance from the bridge of your nose to the anterior portion of your patient’s mouth. Subtract 1.5 inches to arrive at the distance from the front lens of the loupe. This is your working distance. Most dentists and hygienists will have either a Regular (12-15”) or Long (14-18”) working distance.

What magnification level should I choose?
As magnification increases, the field of view, depth of focus and brightness decreases. Therefore, you should choose the lowest power of magnification that will fit your needs. 2.5x is ideal for most general dentistry applications.

I wear prescription lenses. Can I have my prescriptions fitted in your loupes?
Yes. All Perioptix loupes can be fitted with your prescription. With prescription lenses, you will have your corrective lenses in your frames for reading or converse with your patients. The Hogies frame system now has a removable prescription lens insert, so you can have your corrective lenses or not. This is an ideal choice for those who wear both contact lenses as well as glasses.

What is your warranty and return policy?
Our warranty meets or exceeds industry standards. We provide a 3-year warranty on our loupes and a lifetime warranty on all of the hinge components. Our batteries and lightsources have a 1-year warranty.

Perioptix has a 30-day trial period on all of its products. If our products do not meet your needs you can exchange them or return for a refund.
